Make Your Bed...Lie In It!

So I admit that I create the energy around me. Yes, people are all affected by your actions, I understand. When I make my bed I should lie in it, but should it be a bed of nails? In my attempt to stand up for the rights and happiness of my fellow employees, I end up suffering the most. Why do I sacrifice my happiness for others? I never get the kharma back. I mean maybe I do but it certainly isn't noticable. When presented with an obviously awful situation where the choice between me or everyone else is involved, 'everyone' never stands up for
me, and I have no choice but to put myself second. Is it for the fear of being disliked? Avoiding ruffling anyone's feathers? Perhaps. I feel that I am taken for granted, assuming I will always sacrifice myself for another. Well, sometimes I hate it! Just stop it!!!!!

Christmas Dinner 2023

Christmas dinner is not a challenge for me, unlike most people all over the world. Depending on your main dish selection and the corresponding side dishes, the difficulty level can differ for anyone, but I always suggest keeping it on the simple side so you can spend more time enjoying yourself than living in your kitchen. It was just my partner and me this year, keeping it a bit low-key and quiet. He just started a new job and didn't want to go too crazy, doing a little extra studying during the festive days off. His decision was leg of lamb, which I was happy with as turkey for two is either too much trouble or not special enough if using turkey thighs for your main dish. Using my kitchen and cooking tools (and skills) was a great decision, making our neighbourhood festivities available while also having time to cook. After visiting the local pub and enjoying a few rye and cokes (beer for him) we tried to gather an appetite, filling up on Christmas brunch with my family earlier i...

Sunday Sunday

Well, another brunch eaten but at my work, with another friend. It was nice. We talked about my past issues with the last guy of question in my life. I, again, ended with conclusion that I was not in the wrong again. Talking about it helps. Nothing really was drastically wrong accept my pride being beaten down. I am a bad judge of character I guess. I think I need help picking guys now, lol. After I had a small walk, watched a movie at home and was pulled off my couch by some planes flying in formation around Coal Harbour. I missed the Abbotsford Airshow this year and this was like a little snippet of what I missed. 3 Cessnas and 1 Harvard. Grabbed my camera and took some shots. Now a few beers and some blues.

Love Notes Through Texts...

When I got my first cell phone, I was less than enthusiastic. I had watched people let their phone take over their lives. Everyone seemed to have their cell phones out all the time, interrupting their work, conversations, movies, dinners, etc. I hated hearing the ring of a phone everywhere I went. When my previous job closed their doors, leaving us the false belief that we were moving sites. I wanted to have a working phone while we packed up the restaurant. I also wanted my kitchen staff to be able to contact me about work. I purchased my first cellular phone. It was like a new addition to my family. I was instantly caught up in the immediate connection to people wherever I was. It was a new experience, especially text messaging. Text messaging is an amazing way of communicating without pressure. I find less pressure to answer questions instantly or think about my choice in words. You can text seemingly provocative messages to a person you have a crush on and feel no real stress over...
