Hello old friend. It has been quite the little journey I have been on in the past month. Many changes have occurred and many more may change in the future.
Work has had quite a grip on my life lately and I have had little time for anything else. It will take a stronger hold in the next month as the Chef quite and I am taking on his roll. This means loads of work for me and no days off until everything settles down. Before that we have to survive the busiest time of the year---Gay Pride Weekend. It should be the busiest time of the year and I am not looking forward to it. I hope to negotiate a better wage for myself, being in charge. Considering the lack of organization, it should be a breeze, with my Mahoney's experience behind me. There will be many changes to the procedures in the kitchen to make it run efficiently and make everyone's life smoother. I also hope to change the order guide a bit to make this little pub not such of a prep nightmare...
I have been working so much, I haven't had much time with my old friends. The time that I do have with them, one in particular, has been kinda concentrated. I try and make the best of each visit because I can never say when I am gonna have time to see them again. With my new promotion in the process, he has been quite supportive and seems pretty happy about me taking the job. My news about moving to the Island was a bit of a shock to him. He is very happy that I have a good job and am securing my roots. Hmmmm I wonder why....Anyways he wants to rent a boat and go out on it with me if I have time while he has time off. Heehee
My personal life is pretty boring and I am starting to get a bit antsy on this whole relationship thing. We are more like roommates now and friends rather than partners. I am wondering what the future holds, but I can't wait forever and the move to the Island doesn't look as inviting as it did a year ago.
I have been quite addicted to eagles and have that as a hobby right now. When I have time, I go out in search of local eagle nests. I have watched two eaglets grow up on the internet and also in Stanley Park. I have also made some friends on a chat board from the eagle site. I have been working late nights so it is nice to chat after work....especially when I work until 2am and don't wake up until 1pm.
So that's my life in short and I hope to continue this blog space if I have time.
